AKC Canine Good Citizen Group Classes

Would you like to teach your dog how to be calm and well behaved in public?
Join our small group class offered in conjunction with the City of Show Low.

Not only does CGC training create long-lasting trust between you and your pup, but also ensures you’ll be good neighbors and friends to everyone around you. In this 7 week class you and your dog will learn the 10 skills that are required to pass the Canine Good Citizen test, should you choose to take it. These include sit and stay, accepting petting calmly, walking on a loose leash, passing dogs in a calm manner, walking through a crowd, and coming when called. The test is optional which would be taken on week 8 and is an additional $15. And, if you’re interested in going beyond the basics, CGC also lays the foundation for other AKC sports and activities like obedience, agility, tracking, and is the prerequisite for therapy dog work.

Class is suitable for dogs 8 months and older who are friendly with dogs and people.

This class is held outdoors and 10ft social distancing is required.

$120 for 7 week class.
$15 for optional official AKC CGC test.

Next Class starts on Saturday, October 3rd at 11am.
