Training and Behavior Advice for Rescue Dogs

Have you just adopted a rescue dog and wondering how to get him settled, or maybe already experiencing some issues? As a rescue dog behavior specialist, Nikki can help you with setting you and your new furry pal up for success and how to go about building a long-lasting relationship now that he’s finally found his forever home. While you would never know that some rescue dogs have suffered a bad past, others can struggle in a new home. Nikki has been helping rescue dogs since 2010. They have a very special place in her heart and due to her extensive history with these guys, can help you understand where they are coming from and how to set up a successful future together. Nikki has the specialized skill set to help you with the most common rescue dog behaviors such as separation anxiety, house training, chewing, dog reactivity, stranger danger, resource guarding, and general lack of manners. In-Person Training Sessions

In-person dog training sessions are available for clients who reside in Show Low, Vernon, Pinetop-Lakeside, Taylor and Snowflake. Nikki is happy to work with all rescue dogs and has the experience to help with an array of behavioral issues.

How many sessions you will require will totally depend on your goals, however, most clients choose to have a minimum of 4 x 1hr sessions. Nikki will travel to your home to work with you and your family, and the prices below reflect travel time.

Bare in mind that Nikki is not your average dog trainer. Her experience, credentials and specialty skill level will lead you and your rescue dog down a very positive road. She will teach you how to work with your rescue dog with the compassion that is required, how to modify problem behaviors and offer you the most up-to-date scientific training methods that are available today.

1hr In-Person Coaching Sessions Pay as you go – $90 ph

30 Day Training Package (4 x 1hr sessions/Once Weekly) – $299

Intensive 30 Day Training Package (8 x 1hr sessions/Twice Weekly) – $575

Video Training Sessions

Whether you live outside Nikki’s service area, require flexible scheduling or looking for a cheaper training alternative, video coaching may be just the solution. Nikki is extremely competent at providing her remote clients the same level of service that her in-person clients receive and results are just as effective. All you need is a smart phone or laptop/computer, a wi-fi connection that doesn’t have to be super quick, and a video conferencing app such as Zoom, FaceTime or Google Hangouts. If you are unsure about any technical aspect of this service then feel free to call Nikki and she will provide you step-by-step instructions.
